Your own video space

On this page

Available once your organisation's space is set up. Wandura sets up each space with you (space, playback domain, key); until yours is ready, use the standard model. Ask Wandura in your team's Discord channel to start.

TL;DR — Instead of asking Wandura for a ticket per episode, your organisation can get its own space on Wandura's video platform (BytePlus VOD). The space holds only the films and fitness collections Wandura has licensed to you, copied there for you. Your server reads it with a key that can read, play and edit your space only, and gets playback links straight from the platform. Wandura's API will add the metadata the platform does not hold, such as cast and translations.

When you get one

Wandura offers a space when your licence is set up; you can't create one yourself. Wandura sets it up together with your playback domain and your key. How it compares with the other models: Architecture · Choose a model.

How it works

Your appYour serverYour spaceWanduracopy the films and collections you licensedlist playlists and videos (your key)ask for playback info (your key)playback links on your domainlink for the viewerplayextra metadata (cast, translations), joined by id

Your own playback domain

Each space comes with a playback domain belonging to your organisation alone, in the form <your-org>-playback.wandura.ai for films and <your-org>-fit-playback.wandura.ai for fitness clips. Every playback link in your space sits on that domain — never shared with another organisation. Wandura issues the certificate and configures it; there is nothing for you to do in DNS.

Only Wandura can change the domain. If you need a second one — for example to separate the numbers for two of your own apps, see Usage and cost — ask Wandura in your team's Discord channel.

What your key can do

Can Cannot
Read and play everything in your space Read or change any other space
Edit titles, descriptions, tags, playlists, images and subtitles; hide or show a video Delete videos: hide them instead, or ask Wandura
Upload your own videos (for example trailers) and run your space's encoding Change space or domain settings

Your edits are yours: Wandura only writes tags that start with wd: and adds new copies, so anything you changed stays as you left it. When Wandura updates the original, it tells you and leaves your version alone. Don't remove wd: tags. Uploads and encoding you run count toward your organisation's usage.

Keep the key on your server only, never in an app. If it leaks, tell Wandura: a new key is issued and the old one is turned off.

Films and fitness clips

Content Format in your space Player
Films Encrypted HLS only The Player SDK (licensed): Player SDK
Fitness clips of 30 seconds or more HLS Any standard player (AVPlayer, ExoPlayer, hls.js)
Short fitness clips (about 10 seconds) MP4 Any standard player

Every exercise in the fitness library — code, workout, phase and length — is listed in the Fitness catalogue. You can build your screens and workout plans from it before your own space is ready.

Usage and cost

Because your space stands on its own, the video platform separates the numbers by space: plays and bytes per video, storage, and transcoding. You do not embed an app code in the link, and you do not process logs to work out which share is yours. Wandura reconciles against those same numbers when billing.

One thing to settle before you design around it: the numbers separate by space, not by app. Several of your apps reading one space add up into a single figure. If you need to know what each app uses, each app needs its own playback domain — ask for it while the space is being built, because added later it cannot split the history apart.

Videos you upload yourself and transcoding you run yourself also count towards your organisation's usage.

Metadata

Wandura copies content in a fixed layout: one playlist per series named by its series code (series longer than 100 episodes continue in <code>-2), episode titles <code> · E<nn> · <name>, images named <code>-poster-…, <code>-cover-…, <code>-hero-…, and WebVTT subtitles on each video. A CMS that reads those conventions works as is; on top of that, organise your space any way you like. Each video in your space carries a title, description, tags, category, playlist, images and subtitles. Read them from the platform. For what the platform does not hold (cast, translations, licence windows), Wandura's Catalog will add those fields, together with the ids that join a catalog entry to a video in your space. Wandura will also tell your server when something changes (a new episode, a removal, edited metadata), so you don't have to scan your space. Until then, ask Wandura in your team's Discord channel.

Each copied episode also carries machine-readable tags: wd:series:<code>, wd:ep:<nn>, wd:kind:episode and wd:lang:<language>. An episode appears in your space once its encrypted version is ready there, and only released series are copied.

When a licence ends

Wandura removes the film or collection from your space. Links your server already handed out keep working until they expire, so drop the content from your app at the same time: When rights end.

For an urgent takedown (a copyright claim, for example), Wandura removes every copy of a series or an episode from your space at once: the videos with their subtitles, the images Wandura added, and those videos' entries in your playlists, including playlists you made (a playlist left empty is deleted). Videos you uploaded yourself stay, and Wandura does not copy that content again. Drop it from your app as above.
