# When rights end

> **TL;DR** — When a licence ends or is switched off, the film leaves the catalog and new tickets answer `403` `not_entitled` within 30 seconds. Tickets already issued keep playing until they expire (at most 30 minutes): design the app so playback can end with an error at any moment. On your side: stop selling, apply your refund policy, keep the row (unavailable, not deleted), and stop using its creatives after the rights day.

Nothing announces these changes: your [catalog sync](https://docs.wandura.ai/v1/developers/guides/catalog-sync) sees them.

## What you do
1. **Stop selling** the film once your catalog sync confirms it is gone (two complete walks).
2. **Keep the row**, marked unavailable: viewers' purchases and history point at it.
3. **Show the agreed message** to viewers who had paid ("This title is no longer available").
4. **Apply your refund policy**, as agreed with your support team.
5. **Creatives:** stop using them after the UTC day of `rights.ends_at` (`ends_at + 86400`).
6. **Renewal:** when the film comes back in the catalog, mark it available again.

## Test it
Ask Wandura in your channel to end the licence of one test film. After the next two syncs it must be hidden, and a ticket request for it must answer `403` `not_entitled`. See [Testing](https://docs.wandura.ai/v1/developers/guides/testing#test-plan).
